"We write to taste life twice - once in the moment and in introspection."

This has been long overdue, but because I like to write and to pretend that I'm doing something good here, I've kept plugging along at this blog. Well, I've finally realized that I have better uses of my time. So I'm shutting down for the foreseeable future.

Enjoy your life and find many ways to give God thanks as you travel along.

More Summer Fun

This is our garden shed which my Lovey built a year or two ago. I'm still putting up all the nails I need on the inside for hanging up tools and eventually I want to put a little shelf along the back wall for potting stuff.

On the back of the shed I hung an old parakeet nesting box and it has been used several years quite successfully.

Our spring cuties. Since I took the pictures by just sticking the camera up on the edge of the box, above my head, the photos aren't the best, but you can see what we got to enjoy.

So spotting them has been some of our nature studies this summer. I think they're sparrow, of which we have quite a few around here.

Patriotic Tablerunner

Little by little, in the midst of various other things, this fun tablerunner got finished!

It is made from a pattern in the July/August 2012 Quiltmaker magazine. I thought the stars looked enough like bursts of fireworks that they would be great in a patriotic runner.

Once I got the block layout figured out, it was pretty easy to put together, including the rotating around that center yellow square.

I just got the call that it is finished being quilted, so Tuesday when we're in that neck of the woods, I plan to pick it up and get the binding on, maybe while enjoying an Independence Day church party at some friends'.
Then I'll enjoy it on the table for most of July.

Still giving thanks for what freedoms we have, I
